Settle in for an evening of fly tying and beer tasting at one of Australia’s most awarded breweries, Red Oak Boutique Beer Café in the heart of Sydney.

When not on the water the preparation of our gear is foremost on our minds and if reading this then fly fishing is your hobby of choice.

Sip n tie is an evening that combines two of the greatest past times, tying flies and drinking beer. We have teamed up with some of the finest establishments of brewing, fermenting, and roasting the finest drops to hit your lips.

The aim of Sip n Tie is to learn the finer details of the art of fly tying in a fun and social atmosphere.

You will be taught how to tie three flies, by one of Australia’s leading commercial fly tyers, Brett Clarke founder, owner, and head fly tyer at BWC flies.

If you have ever wanted to take your fly tying to the next level, then this is for you.

All fly-tying equipment and material will be supplied as part of the evening, at the conclusion of the night you will have learnt in detail how to tie three patterns, these skills will last you a lifetime.

The three flies will be tied live by Brett on the night, you will be provided with an individually set up fly tying station to put your newfound skills into action. Brett and the team will be there to watch over and answer any questions during the evening.

To accompany the fly tying you will be served 6 craft beers for tasting and encouraged to explore the unique attributes of each pour as you taste and tie the night away.

There is no need to bring any fly-tying material or equipment as everything you need for the night will be supplied and set up for you. At the conclusion of the evening, you will have three completed flies to show for your efforts including extra material to tie four of each fly. This is a lot more to show then your average night out at the pub.

There will be a giveaway on the night and an exclusive offer from BWC flies for all those attending.

Places on the evening are extremely limited to create an intimate and social learning atmosphere, filled with hours of fly tying and a few beers.

Get a group together or book in for just yourself, the scheduled night will start at 6pm and conclude around 9 pm, the venue is open till late, they also have a great dinner menu available from 5 pm.
