The first person to hook a fish on this fly was legendary intrepid angler Gretchen from Colorado. We have now been fishing together for two weeks every year for over 15 years. After being hooked, the fish promptly swam around a log. Gretchen looked at me and said, “This is a Code Red Situation” and there the fly was named.

Tied on a Tiemco TMC2457 super strong curved nymph hook with a wide gape. Curved wide gape hooks give you a better hook set. The Code Red Nymph is weighted with a Black tungsten bead.
