The Scott Fly Rod Company is pleased to announce the introduction of their new Session series of fly rods.
Session rods bring together high line speed, exceptional loop control, and a light and lively feel in hand.
They load easily, and they respond to subtle inputs from the angler.

President, Jim Bartschi said, “Anyone who has fished Scott freshwater rods in the recent past will immediately recognize our signature ‘fast with feel’ action in Session rods. They share some of the design approaches and materials DNA with their legendary predecessors. We added in some of our newest technologies to take these rods to a new level.”

Session rods feature Scott’s Carbon Link epoxy resin system, Multi-Modulus lay ups, ARC2 reinforcement, ReAct, and Natural Finish blanks. Session rods are handcrafted in Montrose, Colorado, using the finest components with milled aluminium reel seats with type 2 anodize and wood inserts, silicon nitride stripping guides, and Super grade cork handles.

Available from 8 to 10 feet, in four-piece configuration for 3 weight to 8 weight lines.

Recommended line weight 120-135 grains. The all arounder for lighter work when using smaller flies and light tippet. This rod feels feather-light in hand yet generates ample line speed and tight loops for longer casts, and wind defying leader turn over.

Recommended line weight 140-155 grains. A great choice for additional line control, long roll casts and single hand spey casts. It’s built with a fighting butt.

Recommended line weight 160-185 grains. A great rod for streamer fishing or swinging flies. This rod tracks incredibly well and casts long effortless loops. It is also one heck of a rod for single hand spey casting. ie a great TRC rod.

Recommended line weight 120-135 grains. A superb rod for technical nymphing both with and without indicators. The light tip allows for sensitive strike detection and protects the finest tippets.

Recommended line weight 145-160 grains. This rod excels at casting floating or intermediate lines and long leaders. Stable and controlled at all distances, it is a joy to cast all day. It’s a great rod for larger rivers or light stillwater work.
